Abstract

Dalam hadist air Zamzam disebut sebagai air terbaik di muka bumi yang dapat diminum secara langsung tanpa pengolahan terlebih dahulu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari turbiditas, kebutuhan oksigen kimia dan hayati pada air Zamzam dan membandingkannya dengan tiga merk air minum dalam kemasan (AMDK). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa AZ-1 memiliki nilai turbiditas lebih rendah dari AZ-2, AMDK-1, AMDK 2 dan AMDK 3 dari minggu pertama hingga minggu ke-4. Nilai kebutuhan oksigen terlarut atau Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) air Zamzam (AZ-1) lebih tinggi dibanding AMDK 2 sampai minggu ke-4. Untuk kadar kebutuhan oksigen hayati atau Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) berbanding terbalik dengan kadar COD, dimana nilai BOD pada air Zamzam (AZ-1) lebih rendah dibanding AMDK-2 di setiap minggunya. Pada minggu pertama air Zamzam hampir mampu mempertahankan nilai BODnya, sedangkan AMDK-2 mengalami kenaikan yang cukup signifikan. Pada minggu ke-4 nilai air Zamzam dan AMDK memiliki selisih yang sangat kecil. Air Zamzam memiliki sifat antibakteri yang baik sehingga kemungkinan ini yang menyebabkan nilai BOD dan turbiditas air Zamzam lebih rendah. Penelitian ini juga dapat membuktikan keistimewaan dari air Zamzam secara lebih sederhana. In the hadits, Zamzam water is referred to as the best water on earth that can be drunk directly without processing it first. The purpose of this study was to study the chemical and biological oxygen requirements and turbidity of Zamzam water and compare it with three brands of bottled drinking water (AMDK). The results showed that Zamzam water had a higher value of dissolved oxygen or Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) than bottled water from 2 to 4 weeks. For levels of biological oxygen demand or Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) it is inversely proportional to COD levels, where the BOD value in Zamzam water is higher than AK-2 every week. In the first week, Zamzam water was almost able to maintain its BOD value, while AK-2 experienced a significant increase. In the 4th week, the value of Zamzam and bottled water has a very small difference. The turbidity value of Zamzam water is lower than AZ-2, AK-1, AK-2 and AK-3 from the first week to the fourth week. Zamzam water has good antibacterial properties so this possibility causes the BOD value and turbidity of Zamzam water to be lower. This research can also prove the features of Zamzam water in a simpler way.
