Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh maraknya perilaku negatif di kalangan peserta didik sehingga proses pengembangan karakter tidak bisa dibentuk melalui proses belajar mengajar pada jam pelajaran semata. Upaya pendidikan agama Islam dalam mengembangkan karakter melalui pembinaan keagamaan atau kegiatan ekstrakurikuler PAI diharapkan dapat memberantas sifat-sifat negatif tersebut. Salah satu lembaga yang berusaha untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter pada peserta didik yaitu SMAN 16 Kota Bandung melalui pengimplementasian nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam beberapa program kegiatan keagamaan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis: 1) tujuan; 2) program; 3) proses; 4) faktor pendukung dan penghambat; dan 5) keberhasilan implementasi nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler PAI untuk meningkatkan integritas peserta didik di SMAN 16 Kota Bandung. Landasan teori dalam penelitian ini adalah teori dari Thomas Lickona tahun 1991 yang berpendapat bahwa karakter mengandung tiga korelasi yaitu moral knowing, moral feeling, dan moral behaviour. Artinya mengetahui hal-hal yang baik, memiliki keinginan untuk berbuat baik, dan melaksanakan yang baik berdasarkan atas pemikiran, perasaan apakah hal tersebut baik untuk dilakukan atau tidak, kemudian dikerjakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif. Sumber data dalam penelitian terdiri dari data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mereduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/ verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) tujuan implementasi nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler PAI yaitu untuk membina kepribadian peserta didik agar berakhlak karimah dan mampu mengaktualisasikan diri di lingkungan sekolah dan masyarakat berbekal pengetahuan keagamaannya; 2) program implementasi direalisasikan dalam program kegiatan keagamaan harian, mingguan, bulanan, dan tahunan; 3) proses implementasi dilaksanakan melalui empat tahapan yaitu tahap pengenalan, pemahaman, keteladanan, dan tahap pengulangan atau pembiasaan; 4) faktor pendukung implementasi yaitu sarana dan prasarana, lingkungan sekolah, pendidik, manajemen sekolah, kesadaran, minat dan kreatifitas peserta didik, dan dukungan orang tua peserta didik. Sedangkan faktor penghambat implementasi yaitu keterbatasan fasilitas, minat peserta didik, kebiasaan di luar sekolah, rendahnya pendidikan agama di luar sekolah, pengaturan waktu, kurangnya tenaga guru PAI, dan sebagainya; 5) keberhasilan implementasi diperoleh presentase rata-rata 84,6% menunjukkan peserta didik selalu mengimplementasikan perbuatan yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter serta 81,1% yang menunjukkan peserta didik selalu berintegritas serta hasil wawancara dengan guru dan pembina ekstrakurikuler PAI. This research is motivated by the rise of negative behavior among students, so that the process of character building cannot be formed through the teaching and learning process during class hours only. Islamic religious education efforts in developing character through religious guidance or PAI extracurricular activities are expected to eradicate these negative traits. One of the institutions that seek to instill character education values in students is SMAN 16 Bandung City through the implementation of character education values in several religious activity programs. The purpose of this study is to analyze: 1) objectives; 2) programs; 3) process; 4) supporting and inhibiting factors; and 5) the successful implementation of character education values through PAI extracurricular activities to improve student integrity at SMAN 16 Bandung. The theoretical basis in this study is the theory of Thomas Lickona in 1991 which argues that character contains three correlations, namely moral knowledge, moral feelings, and moral behavior. It means knowing good things, having a desire to do good, and doing well based on thoughts, feelings whether it is good to do or not, then do it. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research methods. Sources of data in the study consisted of primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques in this study were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Data analysis is done by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions/ verification. The results of this study indicate that 1) the purpose of implementing character education values through PAI extracurricular activities is to foster the personality of students so that they have good character and can actualize themselves in the school and community environment armed with their talents and religious knowledge; 2) program implementation is realized in daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly religious activity programs; 3) the implementation process is carried out through four stages, namely the stages of introduction, understanding, example, and repetition or habituation; 4) supporting factors for implementation are facilities and infrastructure, school environment, educators, school management, awareness, interest, and creativity of students, as well as support from parents. While the inhibiting factors for its implementation are limited facilities, student interests, habits outside of school, low religious education outside school, time management, lack of PAI teachers, and so on; 5) the success of implementation obtained an average percentage of 84.6% which indicates that students always take actions that reflect the values of character education and 81.1% which shows students always have integrity and the results of interviews with PAI extracurricular teachers and trainers.
