Abstract

People nowadays in 2019 were excited by the release of a Disney film called Aladdin. People flock to the cinemas to watch it even though the first Aladdin movie was made in the 90s, the Aladdin film which was recently released still made people enthusiastic about this film’s storyline. Aladdin is the main character of The Aladdin or the wonderful lamp story; it’s a Burton’s Story in The Arabian Nights Entertainments. Aladdin story by Burton became the object of study because the compiler want to compare the flow of the manuscript from Burton and the storyline in the 90s Aladdin cartoon movie. Besides that the compiler want to prove the moral message contained in it including quotes from Aladdin’s story texts by Burton. Based on Poespoprodjo (1998: 119), morality as theory in this research is divided into two kinds. Intrinsic morality, and extrinsic morality; intrinsic morality sees an action by its very nature free from every form of positive law. What is seen is whether good or bad acts in essence, not whether someone has ordered it or has forbidden it. Extrinsic morality is a morality that views deed as something commanded or forbidden by a person in power or by positive law, both from human origin and from God. So it can be concluded that morality can essentially be influenced by the presence or absence of pressure from outside a person such as orders, restrictions, and circumstances surrounding the environment that became a trigger morally changed into either good or bad moral. The results of this study, there are moral messages such as helping each other, respect each other, care for each other and so on. There is a law of cause and effect that occurs in the characters of the example: 1) Moorman wants a lamp because he likes magic, 2) Aladdin will not do cunning if the Sultan keeps his promise, 3) The Sultan could not move because he had already promised the Grand Wazir, 4) Ms. Aladdin will not be anxious about proposing to the princess if she has a higher degree not as an ordinary citizen, 5) Moorman will not die if he does not deceive Lady Badr Al-Budr, 6) Grand Wazir will not be unfair to Aladdin's mother if she does not have an appointment with the Sultan to order, 7) Brother Moorman won't take revenge if Moorman doesn't die, and 8) The queen if she doesn't think of a good name she will allow her child to tell the truth about people. Also in this story contains implicit meanings such as life must surrender to Allah, the importance of brotherhood, justice and those meanings are based on what is taught by Islamic teachings namely the Holy Qur'an.
