Abstract

Grammar is the part of writing. People communicate to understand what they talk. How we can understand giving some information without knowing the rules of grammar. It can make different meaning and function in sentence. Grammar is used to give the information correctly. Therefore, especially to the students they write some information based on the grammatical rules so that, the information can be understandable. The aims of the study are to know kinds of grammatical errors created by the students when they write some information based on imaginative writing through pictures, students’ grammatical errors are the study of this research. Qualitative descriptive method is used to describe the study. It is to find the fact of the case of phenomenon in errors writing particularly to the students’ writing skills. Fifteen students are used the sample of data. The purposive sampling is used to whom the research given. The techniques of collecting data are the students ask to write some information in several paragraphs based on the pictures which they see. The students imagine the pictures and express the information to their written, and the whole of source data is from interviewing them. The last is to percentage error sentence that are found. The result of this research is all of the students make errors in their writing product. There are kinds of errors occur when they write such as Parts of Speech, Simple Present, Present Continuous, and Present Perfect. All of the errors sentences based on the error which are consists of part of speech, simple present, present continuous and present perfect are 222 error sentences. There are several aspects that the students make errors in their writing skill. One of them is lack of vocabulary. It signs when they write, they always ask to his or her friends while they are finding unfamiliar words, so that they forget to the rule of English grammar. The implications are to give much time to the student to write because they can’t write correctly. So that, they think how we can improve our ability in writing but the time is not enough, to give more explanation about the difference of the verb in simple present and present continuous, present perfect is rarely to use, It should be given more detail, to give the student detail explanation of singular and plural form and its influence to the verb of sentence.
