Abstract

The aim of this research is studying correlation between mindfulness with pain catastrophizing in patients with chronic diseases. Sample of respondent included patients with chronic disease amounting to 40 respondent who got treatment at the hospital "X" located in Cijerah, Bandung. West Java. The measurement scale of this research used philadelphia mindfulness scale (PHLMS) and also the pain catastrophizing scale (PCS). PHLMS has a coefficient of reliability 0.756 and as for PCS has a coefficient of reliability 0.766. The research used quantitative approach by simple linear regression because it could show the correlation as well as how big the predictor relationship potential of these two variables. The result is R Square = 0,203 and R table = 0,312 with significance value 0,208 (R hit <R table). It showed that there was no significant relationship between mindfulness and pain catastrophizing.
