Abstract

Artificial intelligence is a branch in computer science that tries to make machines act like humans. Artificial neural networks mimic the human biological learning process, which also creates some foundation in pattern recognition. The area of foreign language learning pattern recognition applications that use computers to help people understand the role of new foreign characters, especially graphic characters, such as Arabic. In this application there are main menu that is 2 words, 3 words, 4 words and 5 words which where each - each consisting of images taken offline. The first stage is to convert the converted image into gray image value then cut into the letters that will be recognized, the method used is backpropagation that has test results of 160 images of 26.8%.
