Abstract

ENGLISH : Nathaniel Hawthorne's Scarlet Letter was adapted into a 1995 film. 2010 romantic comedy Easy A. Scarlet Letter and Easy A both employ A, but both have negative connotations. The researcher employed Anggradinata's comparative study method to analyze the films' symbolism. Staiger claims that film meaning comes from the interaction between the text, the reader, and historical and societal context. This "impact on the audience" study examines Scarlet Letter (1995) and Easy A's resemblance (2010). Reception theory examines how a viewer interacts with a film. Context is Janet Staiger's fertile between ground between text and spectator. Film meaning and impact depend on audience and circumstance. Film analysis helps assess audience response for numerous reasons. Some reception theories undervalue the film's text. Film reception describes how we view and think about films based on our social roles. Formal analysis tracks our picture response, which draws us to film. Film reviews help reception studies. The researcher uses a structural technique to establish another meaning for the letter A, which requires intellectual thought. Original work defines symbol A as Adultery, Able, Alone, and Admirable. The researchers uncovered at least five meanings of symbol A in psychology, physiology, fashion, school grade systems, and culture, including Anarchy. INDONESIA : Scarlet Letter karya Nathaniel Hawthorne diadaptasi menjadi sebuah film tahun 1995. Komedi romantis 2010 Easy A. Scarlet Letter dan Easy A keduanya menggunakan A, tetapi keduanya memiliki konotasi negatif. Beberapa teori resepsi meremehkan teks film.
