Abstract

INDONESIA : Zeolit-X disintesis dari dua bahan limbah yaitu abu sekam padi (sumber silika) dan abu limbah kemasan aluminium foil (sumber alumina) menggunakan metode non hidrotermal. Kedua bahan tersebut di karakterisasi menggunakan XRF guna melihat kandungan unsur silika dan alumina yang menunjukkan bahwa abu sekam padi mengandung 80,25% silika dan abu limbah kemasan mengandung 96,25% aluminium. Selanjutnya, bahan limbah direaksikan secara non hidrotermal menggunakan variasi kuantitas larutan basa yaitu 100%, 90% dan 80%. Rasio mol awal yang digunakan yaitu SiO2:Al2O3:Na2O:H2O 1:0,2:4:200 dengan menurunkan 90% & 80% beratnya pada suhu ruang dan waktu aging 35 hari. Produk hasil di karakterisasi menggunakan XRD untuk karakterisasi kristal zeolit serta SEM untuk melihat morfologi zeolit hasil sintesis. Dari hasil karakterisasi XRD terbentuk campuran zeolit yaitu zeolit-X dan zeolit A. Larutan basa zeolit-X 100% memiliki ukuran partikel 25 nm dengan kristalinitas tertinggi yaitu 99,80%. Hasil ini berbanding lurus dengan hasil karakterisasi SEM di mana ukuran partikel yang didapat yaitu 4110 nm. Morfologi sampel zeolit-X 100% didominasi oleh zeolit-X yang berbentuk kristal kubik dan saling bertumpuk menyerupai gumpalan. Sedangkan morfologi zeolit-A menunjukkan bentuk permukaan kubus yang didominasi pada sampel zeolit-X 90%. Pengaruh kuantitas larutan basa NaOH terhadap kristal hasil sintesis diselidiki dalam penelitian ini. Di mana semakin tinggi kuantitas larutan basa maka dapat meningkatkan pembentukan zeolit-X dan semakin rendah kuantitas larutan basa maka zeolit yang terbentuk merupakan zeolit-A. Metode yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini merupakan proses yang hemat energi dan ramah lingkungan yang berpotensi untuk diaplikasikan dalam sintesis jenis zeolit lainnya. ENGLISH : Zeolite-X was synthesized from two waste products, rice husk ash (a silica source) and aluminum foil packaging ash (an alumina source), using a nonhydrothermal process. The two materials used XRF to confirm the content of silica and alumina elements, showing that the rice husk ash contained 80.25% silica and the packaging waste ash contained 96.25% aluminum. In addition, the waste was non hydrothermally reacted using varying amounts of alkaline solution is 100%, 90%, and 80%. The molar ratio initially used was SiO2: A12O3:Na2O:H2O 1 :0, 2:4:200 after 90 and 80% weight reductions at room temperature and aging for 35 days. The resulting product was used to characterize the zeolite crystals using XRD and SEM to examine the morphology of the synthetic zeolite. Based on the results of XRD analysis, a mixture of zeolites is zeolite-X and zeolite-A, was identified. A 100% alkaline solution of zeolite-X had a particle size of 25 nm and the highest crystallinity of 99.80%. This result is directly proportional to the SEM characterization result with a particle size of 4110 nm. The morphology of the 100% zeolite-X sample was dominated by zeolite-X aggregated together in a cubic form resembling clusters. The morphology of zeolite-A showed a typical cubic shape in 90% of the zeolite-X samples. In this study, the effect of the amount of NaOH based solution on the synthesized crystals was tested. A large amount of base solution can increase the formation of zeolite-X, while a small amount of base solution results in the formation of zeolite-A. The process developed in this study is an economical and environmentally friendly method that can be used to synthesize other types of zeolites.
