Abstract

INDONESIA : INDONESIA : Kailan (Brassica oleraceae) varietas Acephala merupakan tanaman sayuran semusim jenis kubis yang tinggi peminat. Untuk memenuhi permintaan pasar produksi tanaman kailan harus ditingkatkan. Keterbatasan lahan produksi dapat diatasi dengan budidaya secara hidroponik. Selain itu, media tanam sangat penting bagi pertumbuhan tanaman. Arang sekam mampu menyediakan aerasi, draenasi dan porositas yang baik untuk membantu tanaman dalam pembentukan akar. Batu bata mampu mendukung tersedianya substrat dengan pori mikro dan makro seimbang untuk ketersediaan oksigen dan air bagi tanaman. Pada budidaya secara hidroponik pengaturan nilai EC juga dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman dan sebagai upaya menghemat penggunaan nutrisi hidroponik. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai Maret 2020 di Green House KWT Citra Desa Rancakasumba, Kecamatan Solokan Jeruk, Kabupaten Bandung, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial dua faktor, yaitu faktor media tanam (M); m1 = rockwool 100%, m2 = pecahan batu bata 100%, m3 = arang sekam 100%, dan m4 = pecahan batu bata 50% + arang sekam 50%. Sebagai faktor kedua, yaitu nilai EC (N); n1 = EC 2,0 dan n2 = EC 2,5. Terdapat empat perlakuan faktor pertama dan dua perlakuan faktor kedua dengan empat kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kombinasi terbaik didapatkan dari perlakuan media rockwool dan EC 2,5. Media tanam yang baik selain penggunaan rockwool adalah arang sekam. Jenis media dan nilai EC memberi pengaruh pada pertumbuhan tanaman kailan, baik secara mandiri maupun interaksi seperti pada bobot kering. ENGLISH : Kailan (Brassica oleraceae) Acephala variety is an annual vegetable plant with a high demand for cabbage. To meet market demand, your crop production must be increased. The limited production area can be overcome by hydroponic cultivation. In addition, the planting medium is very important for plant growth. Husk charcoal is able to provide good aeration, drainage and porosity to help plants in root formation. Bricks are able to support the availability of a substrate with balanced micro and macro pores for the availability of oxygen and water for plants. In hydroponic cultivation, setting the EC value can also be done to increase plant growth and as an effort to save the use of hydroponic nutrients. The research was conducted from February to March 2020 at the Green House KWT Citra, Rancakasumba Village, Solokan Jeruk District, Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The experimental design used in this study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors, namely the planting media factor (M); m1 = 100% rockwool, m2 = 100% brick shard, m3 = 100% husk charcoal, and m4 = 50% brick shard + 50% husk charcoal. As the second factor, namely the value of EC (N); n1 = EC 2.0 and n2 = EC 2.5. There were four treatments of the first factor and two treatments of the second factor with four replications. The results showed that the best combination was obtained from the treatment of rockwool media and EC 2.5. A good planting medium besides the use of rockwool is husk charcoal. The type of media and the EC value had an effect on the growth of kailan plants, both independently and in interactions such as dry weight.
