Abstract
Experienced by Kevin Wendell Crumb's character in the film Split by M. Night Shyamalan. This film raised the phenomenon of mental disorders that are rarely found in everyday life among the people becomes an interesting thing from the film Split. This study has three Discussion: (1) Describing the intrinsic elements in Split film. (2) Describing the Multiple Personality Disorder of the main character in Split movie. (3) Describing the causes of Kevin's Character Multiple Personality Disorder in the film Split. This research was written using the psychoanalytic approach of Sigmund Freud's theory. The data source is taken from the film Split by M. Night This Shyamalan is in the form of screenshots and dialogue. In analyzing, this researcher uses qualitative methods to analyze descriptively. The results of this study indicate that people with multiple personality disorder have various characters with different characters in each of Kevin's personalities, and This personality can be categorized based on which has an imbalance between the id, ego and super ego. Who becomes the main character in the film This Split is Kevin Wendell Crumb, Dr. Fletcher, Casey, Claire, Marcia, Barry, Dennis, Patricia, Hedwig and The Beast. To support this research, there is an additional character, namely Penelope Crumb. Split film has three general settings, namely the setting of the place, time setting and social setting with the theme of mental disorders.
