Abstract

Learning foreign languages through games can be done by understanding the naming of things in game. One of the ways is by understanding the naming of artifacts in 2020’s Play store best game, Genshin Impact role-playing game (Play, 2020). By using qualitative descriptive analysis, this research aims to understand the types of word formation process in artifact naming and the process according to structural and morphological theory. The research uses Yule’s theory on word formation process as the main theory. The research shows that the types of word formation process used is multiple process by 68 processes on 132 data and followed by 64 processes of compounding. The multiple process indicates that forming a name is a complex thing in order to create a meaningful and dense name.
