Abstract
This research aim to find the sign of stereotype, the meaning of stereotyping sign and variety of language in 40 Years Old Virgin (2005) movie-script; By finding signs of stereotypes that appear in The 40 Years Old Virgin (2005) movie. It is helped that the reader can understand the intent of the researcher who wants to show signs of stereotypes that must be understood in daily life; This research will be using qualitative approach as the research method using descriptive analyzing. A descriptive study's purpose is to characterize a phenomena and its characteristics; It was found that there are 19 data of sinsign, 19 data of qualisign, 19 data of legisign, 21 data of index, 21 data of icon, 15 data of symbol, 19 data of rheme, 19 data of decisgin and 19 data of argument. There are 19 data that showed stereotypes regarding gender and only one datum showed stereotypes regarding race. There is 1 datum showed neighborhood social relation, 1 datum showed sales + customer relation, 17 data showed workmate relations, 1 datum showed self-talk relation, 2 data of lovers relation, and three data of mentor-mentee relation.
