Abstract
This paper discusses related to polyandry marriage starting from the notion of polyandry, the basis for the prohibition of polyandry in Islam including the prohibition in the Qur'an and hadith, marriage according to the marriage system in Indonesia, polyandry marriage in the philosophy of human freedom, and concludes with cases of polyandry that occurred in Indonesia. Indonesia. Polyandry is illegal based on the Qur'an, Surah An-Nisa verse 24 and in the hadith narrated by Ahmad, polyandry is also contrary to state law, namely article 3 paragraph 1, namely that a wife can only marry a husband (monogamy), polyandry is also against nature. humans who can cause far from mental and spiritual peace, polyandry also causes problems in society because it is not accepted by reason and culture in Indonesia.
