Abstract

Halima Aden as the first high-fashion hijabi model has been in the spotlight for the past five years. Being the first hijabi-model on the cover of Vogue magazine and participating in the Fenty beauty campaign are just two of her big achievement. Every cover and advertisement featuring her always has a different intention and market for the viewer or reader. This research would show some of their intention using Hjelmslev semiotica theory, the expression, and content. Expression forms are visible in the object. While content is the content forms that signification resides. Using the descriptive qualitative method that explained the market and purpose featured Halima Aden on the cover of the magazine and the advertisement. Based on all of that this research found the expression and content on the cover of the magazine and the advertisement also why model (in this research Halima Aden) can have their intention and impactful even different approaches to the viewer/reader.
