Abstract

INDONESIA : Lovebird Kacamata Fischer (Agapornis fischeri) merupakan salah satu jenis burung dari bangsa Psittaciformes yang dikoleksi oleh masyarakat karena warna bulunya yang indah dan kicauannya yang merdu. Lovebird Kacamata Fischer memiliki perilaku unik dan mengkonsumsi jenis pakan yang beragam. Teknik pemeliharaan serta pemberian pakan yang tepat dapat meningkatkan kualitas suara dan produksi burung lovebird. Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana periaku harian serta bagaimana tingkat konsumsi, palatabilitas pakan, preferensi pakan pada burung lovebird kacamata fischer. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi pola perilaku harian serta menghitung tingkat konsumsi, palatabilitas pakan, dan preferensi pakan pada burung lovebird kacamata fischer. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode Focal Animal Sampling untuk perilaku harian dan metode Cafetaria untuk preferensi pakan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Frekuensi jumlah perilaku lovebird jantan dan betina paling tinggi adalah lokomosi (terbang dan berpindah). Sementara rata-rata waktu paling lama adalah perilaku makan. Nilai frekuensi relatif perilaku harian lovebird jantan lebih besar dibandingkan betina yaitu 74,47% dan betina 73,45%. Tingkat konsumsi lovebird terhadap pakan jenis pakan dari tertinggi ke terendah adalah millet (22,8 g/hari), kangkung (21,5 g/hari), jagung (20,5 g/hari), tauge (12,5 g/hari), dan wortel (10,4 g/hari). Nilai palatabilitas pakan (selection index) berdasarkan jenis pakan lovebird dari tertinggi ke terendah ialah Millet (0,46); Kangkung (0,43); Jagung (0,41); Tauge (0,25); dan Wortel (0,21). Berdasarkan rumus Preferensi Neu, jenis pakan yang paling disukai adalah millet, kangkung, dan jagung dengan kriteria indeks preferensi jenis pakan w > 1. ENGLISH : Fischer lovebird (Agapornis fischeri) is a type of bird from Psittaciformes that’s collected by the community for its beautiful feathers color and melodious sound. Fischer’s lovebird has unique behavior and consumes various types of feeds. The right maintenance and proper feeding can improve the quality of lovebird’s sound and production. The problem’s formulation of this research is how the daily behavior and how the level consumption, feed palatability, feed preferences of fischer’s lovebird. The purpose of this research is to identify the daily behavior patterns and identify the level of consumption, feed palatability, and feed preferences of Fischer’s lovebird. This study used descriptive quantitative method with Focal Animal Sampling for daily behavior and Cafetaria Feeding for feed preferences as a research’s method. The conclusion of this research is the highest frequency of male and female lovebird behavior is locomotion (flying and moving). Meanwhile, the longest average time is eating behavior. The relative frequency value of male lovebird daily behavior is larger than the female, namely 74,47% and female 73,45%. Consumption levels of lovebirds for feed types from highest to lowest were millet (22,8 g/day), water spinach (21,5 g/day), corn (20,5 g/day), bean sprouts (12,5 g/day), and carrots (10,4 g/day). The value of feed palatability (selection index) based on the type of lovebird feed from highest to lowest was millet (0,46); water spinach (0,43); corn (0,41); bean sprouts (0,25); and carrots (0,21). Based on the Neu Preference formula, the most preferred types of feed are millet, water spinach, and corn with the criteria for the feed type preference index w > 1.
