Abstract

Hutan alami yang kondisinya baik dapat menyerap dan menyimpan karbon dalam jumlah yang besar. Perubahan tata guna lahan dapat mempengaruhi serapan dan cadangan karbon di tempat tersebut. Perubahan lahan menjadi area agroforestri adalah sistem yang mengkombinasikan tanaman perkebunan/ tanaman pertanian dengan tanaman kehutanan yang diharapkan dapat mengurangi terlepasnya karbon dalam jumlah besar ke udara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur serapan dan cadangan karbon pada area Agroforestri dibandingkan dengan area monokultur (kebun kopi). Metode yang digunakan berdasarkan beberapa plot dalam ukuran 5x40 meter. Di dalam plot besar terdapat ukuran plot-plot kecil 1x1 m. Hasil analisis penelitian dilakukan dengan Uji T independent. Dari hasil analisis ini menujukkan bahwa area agroforestri memiliki nilai cadangan karbon dan serapan karbon yang lebih besar sebesar 3,325 ton/ Ha-1 dan 0,906 ton/ Ha-1 dibandingkan area monokultur (perkebunan kopi ) di daerah Pangalengan 0,419 ton/Ha-1 dan 1,539 ton/Ha-1. Pohon yang berukuran besar dan umurnya tahunan mampu menyerap karbon lebih banyak dibandingkan Pohon yang ukurannya kecil dan memiliki umur yang pendek. Jadi serapan dan cadangan karbon lebih besar di daerah kamojang berupa agroforestri dibandingkan di daerah pangalengan berupa perkebunan kopi. Natural forests that are in good condition can absorb and store large amounts of carbon. Changes in land use can affect carbon absorption and carbon stock in these places. The conversion of land into agroforestry areas is a system that combines plantation crops/ agricultural crops with forestry plants which is expected to reduce the release of large amounts of carbon into the air. This, research aimed to measure carbon absorption and carbon stocks in the Agroforestry and areas that are only used for coffee plantations (monoculture). Agroforestry found in this area combines coffee and pine plantations. The method used based on several large plots with there is a small plot of 1x1 m inside 5x40 meter. The analysis results of this study were conducted by Independent T-Test. The analysis results show that the Agroforestry area has value of carbon stocks and carbon absorption at 0.906 ton/ Ha-1 and 3.325 ton/ Ha-1 than monoculture area (the coffee plantations) in Pangalengan at 0.419 ton/ Ha-1 and 1.539 ton/Ha-1. Therefore, carbon absorption and carbon stock in Kamojang area were greater in the form of agroforestry than in the area of Pangalengan which is a coffee plantation.
