Abstract

Hadirnya media massa sebagai alternatif dan bentuk efektifitas dalam kegiatan komunikasi massa. Dalam pemahaman teoritis, media berperan menjadi elemen penyeimbang, sebagai alat transformasi realitas sosial kepada khalayak publik, juga menjadi pilar keempat sebagai pemantau kinerja pemerintah. Namun dalam realitanya, media mempunyai kemampuan untuk melakukan agenda setting. Kemampuan media untuk menyeleksi isu dan sudut pandang yang akan diberitakan kepada khalayak publik. Namun, dalam proses agenda setting, hal yang tidak boleh dilupakan adalah kerangka ideologis yang harus dimiliki media di dalam proses pemberitaannya yang akan berdampak pada kredibilitas berita yang disampaikan. Semakin kredibel suatu pemberitaan semakin tinggi pula kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap media tersebut. Berita dinilai perlu memiliki unsur kredibilitas didalamnya seperti dipercaya (believebility), akurasi (accuracy), serta bias dan kelengkapan berita (completeness). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh agenda media dalam pemberitaan Lumpur Lapindo di tvOne (X) terhadap kredibilitas berita yang di kalangan mahasiswa (Y). Teknik yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode survei, dan partisipasi dari 37 responden mahasiswa jurnalistik angkatan 2018 yang meng ikuti dan paham tentang Lumpur Lapindo. Kerangka teori dari penelitian ini menggunakan teori agenda setting. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa responden menyadari adanya agenda media dalam pemberitaan Lumpur Lapindo di tvOne. Variabel independen agenda media secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap kredibilitas berita sebesar 16.1% yang meliputi aspek durasi, frekuensi dan onflik atau penyajian berita. ABSTRACT The influence of Television Media Agenda on News Credibility Among Students (Survey Study on Journalistic Communication Studies Students of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung About Lapindo Mud News on TV One Station) The presence of mass media as an alternative and form of effectiveness in mass communication activities. In a theoretical understanding, the media plays a role as a balancing element, as a means of transforming social reality to the public, as well as being the fourth pillar as a government performance monitor. But in reality, the media has the ability to do agenda setting. The ability of the media to select issues and points of view that will be reported to the public. However, in the agenda setting process, what should not be forgotten is the ideological framework that the media must have in their reporting process which will have an impact on the credibility of the news delivered. The more credible the news, the higher the public's trust in the media. News is considered necessary to have an element of credibility in it such as believebility, accuracy, and completeness of the news. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the media agenda in reporting on the Lapindo Mudflow on TV One (X) had on the credibility of the news among students (Y). The technique used to achieve the objectives of this research is quantitative with a survey method, and the participation of 37 journalistic student respondents from the 2018 batch who follow and understand the Lapindo Mud. The theoretical framework of this research uses agenda setting theory. The results of the study prove that respondents are aware of the media agenda in reporting on the Lapindo Mudflow on TV One. The independent variable media agenda simultaneously affects the credibility of the news by 16.1% which includes aspects of duration, frequency and onflik or news presentation.
