Abstract

ENGLISH : Not all reflexive forms are characterized by a relationship between the antecedent and the reflexive form which appears independently in the sentence construction. reflexive constructions are divided into several types. It is known that the difference between one reflexive construction from the others is the used of verbs in that construction. This research discusses the type of construction, and the types of predicators that build the different types of reflexive construction. The objectives of this research are (1) to identify types of reflexive construction are found in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.” (2) to find out kind of predicator used in reflexive construction are found in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone”. This research uses a qualitative descriptive using the theory proposed by Van Vallin and LaPolla (1997), to find the types of reflexive construction, and the theory proposed by Linda Thomas (1993), to find the types of verbs in reflexive construction. From the research results found 30 data: 15 data for the types of lexical reflexive constructions, and 15 data for the types of coreference reflexive constructions. There are 6 types of verb which form the different reflexive types. Lexical reflexive constructions are formed by: intransitive, prepositional, and intensive verbs. And coreference reflexive constructions are formed by: transitive, ditransitive, and complex-transitive verb. From the research result, it can be concluded that the lexical reflexive constructions are formed by the verbs that do not have the object, because the reflexive form is shown directly by the verbs. Meanwhile, coreference reflexive constructions are formed by the verbs that have one or more objects as reflexive objects that refer to their antecedent. INDONESIA : Tidak semua bentuk refleksif ditandai oleh hubungan antara anteseden dan bentuk reflexive yang muncul secara independen dalam konstruksi kalimat. Konstruksi reflexive terbagi menjadi beberapa tipe. Diketahui bahwa pembeda antara satu konstruksi refleksif satu dengan yang lainnya adalah penggunaan verba dalam konstruksi tersebut. Penelitian ini membahas tipe konstruksi, dan jenis predikator apa saja yang membangun bentuk konstruksi refleksif sehingga terbentuk tipe-tipe yang berbeda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui tipe konstruksi refleksif apa saja yang terdapat dalam novel “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”, dan (2) untuk mengetahui jenis predikator apa yang ditemukan dalam konstruksi refleksif pada novel “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Van Vallin dan LaPolla (1997), untuk menemukan jenis konstruksi refleksif, dan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Linda Thomas (1993), untuk menemukan tipe verba dalam konstruksi refleksif. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan 30 data: 15 data untuk jenis lexical reflexive construction, dan 15 data untuk jenis coreference reflexive construction. Ada 6 tipe verba yang membentuk tipe refleksif yang berbeda. Lexical reflexive construction dibentuk oleh: intransitive, prepositional, dan intensive verb. Dan coreference reflexive construction dibentuk oleh: transitive, ditransitive, dan complex-transitive verb. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa lexical reflexive construction dibentuk oleh verba yang tidak memiliki objek, karena bentuk reflexive tersebut ditunjukkan langsung oleh verba. Sedangkan coreference reflexive construction dibentuk oleh verba yang memiliki objek satu atau lebih sebagai objek reflexive yang merujuk pada antesedennya.
