Abstract

Quran in primary source to establish an islamic laws, but quranic text frequantly is difficult to understand. It need a tool to understand its meaning. One of the sciences to be a tool for understanding the Quranic meaning is the science of asbab al-nuzul. Occasionally the versions of asbab al-nuzul have various problems which can be resolve by the majority of Quranic interpretaters. Al-Suyuthi classified the problem of versions to be a cause of sending down the Quran into various solutions. If the versions of asbab al-nuzul were contradictory each others, the standard version in the non-ijtihadi version, the version completed with an authentic isnad, from the transmitter who actually see the repetions. If the version of asbab al-nuzul wer contradictory, it means that the quranic version is going down because of those causes. On the conce[t of al-'ibrah bi umum al-lafzh la bi khusus al-sabab, al-Suyuthi said, if there is no generality in its wording, it means that the Quranic verse is only directed for man who is to be subject of the sending down of the Quran. If a Quranic verse is going down to the certain man, it means that the Quranic verse is to be general because its wording is general.
