Abstract

This research oroganited from the phenomenon of the implementation the Tahfidz Qurán Program at the Al Aqsa Sumedang Modern Islamic Boarding School, West Java Indonesia. Researchers found that students who follow the Tahfidz Qurán program felt happiness after being able to memorize the Qur'an and they had high school engagement. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the academic climate has an effect on school engagement with happiness as a mediator variable. Respondents in this study were 133 students who were taken randomly. Measuring instruments used in data collection were a measure of happiness, academic climate and school engagement which were compiled by researchers referring to the theory of experts. Based on the research results it is known that happiness has a positive effect on school engagement but not significant, academic climate has a positive effect on school engagement but not significant, Academic climate has a positive and significant effect on happiness, and in a structural model know that happiness has a positive role as a mediator variable on the effect of academic climate on school engagement but not significant.
