Abstract

A comparative religious study as religion science has a meaning, method and history in scientific world. This comparative religious study is important to be studied especially for Indonesian context that has religious and cultural diversity. Religious dialogue, as one of applications of religious comparative studies, can be used to accommodate these diversities. Religious dialogue has several important points such as; institution, foundation or principle and form. Comparative religious studies and religious dialogue contribute to the ethics of religious tolerances in Indonesian society and nation as well as global, if this dialogue is conducted responsibly and honesty. Religious dialogue is not merely seen as ceremonial activities, but more important is the mental reception of individual and social based on responsibility as adherents, member of society, citizens and international members. In the global and information era, religious values should aim at overcoming many problem in national and global level.
