Abstract

This study explores the outbreak of covid-19 and how it is handled in terms of mitigating the spread and minimizing socio-economic impacts with appropriate and measurable policies. The rational response of the government that should be implemented to anticipate it is by implementing planning and closing the entrance gate at all airports, ports and other access points as part of the policy. lock down, social distancing, or physical distancing, imposed by a number of countries affected, handling protocol prepared for people who are already infected. The policy of easing foreigners entry access for tourism purposes and the attitude of the pandemic by the Indonesian government is seen as sharing a blunder policy. Academic survey research methods data were taken from mass media reports, expert studies, sciencetific literatures and research institute studies. The results of the study show that a policy that does not place seriousness on the focus of the problem and is not measurable in the context of the handling of the covid outbreak 19, the government will not be able to minimize deaths from coronavirus 2019 (COVID19) and the socioeconomic impact of the spread of the virus will be very deep and serious.
