Abstract

The industrial revolution 4.0 era is a new chapter era in human civilization. In this era, the swift influence of technology and information has brought human civilization to undergo massive changes in all sectors, including in the education sector. Education has been so severely disrupted that the role and teacher, who was originally a supplier of knowledge, face challenges. This article aims to reveal the role and function of teachers in the industrial revolution 4.0 era using critical analytical methods. The results of this study reveal that the role of teachers in the industrial revolution 4.0 era is that teachers must become facilitators, motivators, constructors, problem solvers, translators of creative and innovative learning scenarios. Whereas the teacher's function is as a figure of change and a figure of reform. Teachers are required to master technology and predict the direction of change and strategic steps in the face of the industrial revolution 4.0 era.
