Abstract

This is a research of morphological and semantics phenomenon which focuses on word formation and meaning of English makeup terms that used in www.hellosasyachi.com blog by an Indonesian blogger, Sasya Aile. Fourteen articles containing review of makeup and using English terms are used as the main data. The theory of word formation combined from O’Grady and Dobrovolsky (1997), and Yule (2006) relating to the twelve processes in forming words are used to support the analysis. Moreover, the theory of meaning by Griffith (2006) to describe the meaning of English makeup terms in www.hellosasyachi.com is also used. From the analysis of 14 articles of makeup review, it can be found that there are only 6 processes or word formation for 50 data; 21 data are categorized as compounding, 4 data are categorized as acronyms, 18 data are categorized as derivation, 2 data are categorized as inflection, and 5 data are categorized as multiple processes.
