Abstract

Almost 70% of the components in the human body are built by water. In water there are fluoride ions capable of causing florisis to damage the internal organs if consumed in concentrations greater than 1.5 mg / L. capability of S.platensis immobilized alginate can reduce the levels of fluoride. The adsorption capacity was carried out by treatment of alginate-promoted S. platensis and alginate treatment which used optimum pH parameters (4, 5, 6, 7 and 8), contact time (15, 30, 45, 60 and 75 min) and fluoride adsorption capacity. Using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with SPANDS-Zirconil acid reagent as a fluoride reagent. From the optimum pH yield 7, contact time of 75 minute adsorbtion reached 30.8% absorption efficiency. and an adsorption capacity of 1.7 mg / L in 2.5 mg / L fluoride.
