Abstract

ENGLISH The creative process of making films adapted from novels results in differences such as in the plot. This research analyzed ecranisation from novel to film The Da Vinci Code. This research focuses on the ecranisation of intrinsic element that occur plot from novel into film to find out reduction, addition and modification. In this research, the researcher used the ecranisation theory by Eneste and plot theory by Mays. This research includes literary criticism research used structuralism approach and used the comparative method to analyze the structure plot of novel and film. The data sources in this research were the novel The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown and film The Da Vinci Code by Ron Howard. The data were obtained by reading, watching and taking techniques. The results of the ecranisation novel into film The Da Vinci Code there are events that are intentionally reduction, addition and modification with to the needs of the film but are still relevant to the story in the novel. There are fifty reduction, seventeen addition and thirteen modification.   INDONESIA Proses kreatif dalam pembuatan film yang diadaptasi dari novel mengakibatkan adanya perbedaan seperti pada alur cerita. Penelitian ini menganalisis ekranisasi dari novel ke film The Da Vinci code. Penelitian ini focus pada ekranisasi unsur intrinsic alur dari novel ke film untuk menemukan penciutan, penambahan dan modifikasi. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan teori ekranisai dari Eneste dan teori plot dari Mays. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kritik sastra dengan menggunakan pendekatan strukturalisme dan menggunakan metode komparatif untuk menganalisis struktur plot novel dan film. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel The Da Vinci Code dari Dan Brown dan film The Da Vinci Code dari Ron Howard. Data diperoleh dengan teknik membaca, menonton dan mencatat. Hasil penelitian dari ekranisasi novel ke film The Da Vinci Code menunjukan bahwa terdapat alur yang sengaja dihilangkan, ditambah dan dimodifikasi sesuai kebutuhan film namun masih relevan dengan cerita dalam novel. Terdapat lima puluh penciutan alur, tujuh belas tambahan alur dan tiga belas modifikasi alur.
