Abstract

INDONESIA : Kemampuan berpikir kritis salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki peserta didik di abad 21, oleh karena itu berpikir kritis menjadi kompetensi yang harus ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan, keterlaksanaan dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Nature of Science Communication (NOSC) pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VII A dan VII B yang dilakukan di SMPN 1 Bangodua, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai validasi RPP dan LKPD sebesar 78% dan 72% dengan kategori layak; keterlaksanaan aktivitas guru di kelas eksperimen A dan B memperoleh rata-rata sebesar 94,23%; partisipasi peserta didik di kedua kelas eksperimen memperoleh rata-rata 84,23% dan 89,61% dengan kategori sangat baik. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir ktitis peserta didik menunjukkan peningkatan dengan n-gain sebesar 0,63 dan 0,61 di kelas eksperimen A dan B dengan kategori sedang. Kegiatan diskusi di dalam proses sains membantu peserta didik meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian ini, dapat dijadikan informasi dasar mengenai model pembelajaran Nature of Science Communication (NOSC), dan menambah referensi pendidik dalam penggunaan model pembelajaran di dalam proses pembelajaran. ENGLISH : Critical thinking ability is one of the abilities students must have in the 21st century, therefore critical thinking becomes a competency that must be improved. This research aims to know the processes and improvement of critical thinking ability used the Nature of Science Communication (NOSC) learning model on environment pollution materials. The method research was pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest. The sample used class VII A and VII B at SMPN 1 Bangodua, with the sampling used purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the validation value of the RPP and LKPD was 78% and 72% with a high category; the processes learning of teacher activities in experimental classes A and B have similar value it’s 94.23%; the participation of students in both experimental classes with value of 84.23% and 89.61% (high category). Increased of students' critical thinking ability showed an increase n-gain with value of 0.63 and 0.61 (medium category) in the experimental class A and B. Discussion activities on science process helped student’s improved critical thinking skills. This research can be used about the model of Nature of Science Communication (NOSC) and can be reference of educators to used the model in the learning process.
