Abstract

INDONESIA : Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa di SMP Bakti Nusantara 666 Bandung. Salah satu cara untuk membantu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yaitu dengan menggunakan pembelajaran MEAs. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan pencapaian kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) berdasarkan tingkat PAM (tinggi, sedang, rendah) siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak tujuh kelas dengan sampel dua kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Pengambilan data menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa tes yaitu soal berpikir kritis matematis, dan non tes yaitu skala sikap. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh: (a) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa antara yang menggunakan Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) dengan model konvensional; (b) terdapat perbedaan pencapaian kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa antara yang menggunakan Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) dengan model konvensinal berdasarkan tingkat PAM (tinggi, sedang dan rendah); (c) sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pembelajaran MEAs bernilai positif. ENGLISH : This research was motivated by the low ability of students to think critically in mathematics at SMP Bakti Nusantara 666 Bandung. One way to help improve students' critical thinking skills is by using MEAs learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the achievement of mathematical critical thinking skills of students using learning Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) based on the level of PAM (high, medium, low) students. The population in this study were seven classes with a sample of two classes. Sample was used purposive sampling technical. The method used in this study was quasi-experimental. Retrieval of data using research instruments in the form of tests, namely mathematical critical thinking questions, and non-test, namely the attitude scale. Based on the results of data analysis, it was obtained: (a) there were differences in the increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills between those using Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) and conventional models; (b) there are differences in the achievement of mathematical critical thinking abilities of students between those who use Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) and conventional models based on the level of PAM (high, medium and low); (c) students' attitudes towards mathematics learning by using positive MEAs learning.
