Abstract

Increasing and decreasing self-confidence greatly affect the success of students, both in academic and non-academic fields. To increase self-confidence in students, it is necessary to have a method, namely self-introspection. Referring to Sufism, self-introspection can be understood by the term muhasabah. Students who do muhasabah he will know the advantages and disadvantages of everything that has been done. This study aims to find out the picture of muhasabah and the influence of muhasabah on increasing self-confidence in students of the 2016 class of Psychotherapy Sufism at State Islamic University of Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. The type or method of this research is quantitative, because researchers analyze research data by using statistical calculations. The data collection techniques in this study are: 1) Observation, namely direct observation of the object of research, 2) Interview, which is digging information to obtain data, 3) Questionnaire (Questionnaire), namely by sharing a set of statements or questions to respondents then processing data collected by using IBM Statistics 23, 4) Documentation, which is to obtain additional data. Based on the data obtained in the field and after data analysis, the results show that there is a close correlation with the variable muhasabah and self-confidence that is equal to 0.720, and muhasabah has a positive influence on increasing self-confidence in students of 2016 at the University of Psychotherapy Sufism Department State Islamic Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung with a value of 0.519 or 51.9% which can affect the level of confidence, while 48.1% is influenced by other factors not examined
