Abstract

ENGLISH: Arabica coffee's number in Indonesia are limited due to the high application of uncertified seeds and the issue of planting the seed under 800m below sea level altitude can cause the plant to be vulnerable to leaf rust disease (Hemileia vastarix). To overcome those issues, the availability of high quality coffee seed is needed and one of few methods to produce it is by using rhizobacteria and organic material such as tea dregs. The aim of this research is to discover the effect and the best dose from Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) Pseudomonas cepaceae and tea dregs upon the growth of Arabica coffee’s seed. This research was conducted on July to October 2018 in Balai Pengembangan Benih Tanaman Perkebunan (BPBTP), Arcamanik street 106th, Sindanglaya, Bandung using Completely Randomize Design factorial 2 factor with 3 times replication. The first factor is PGPR (p1) 0 ml polybag-1, (p2) 5 ml polybag-1, (p3) 10 ml polybag-1, and (p4) 15 ml polybag-1. The second factor is tea dregs dose (a1) 0 g polybag-1, (a2) 60 g polybag-1, (a3) 120 g polybag-1, dan (a4) 180 g polybag-1. The result showed that there was no interaction between Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria and tea dregs, but there’s significantly affected of PGPR dose 5 ml polybag-1 of wet weight of roots and tea dregs dose 180 g polybag-1 of plant height.
