Abstract

This final report is about translation. The book which was translated entitled “The Living with A House Rabbit” written by Linda Dykes and Helen Flack. The writer has translated this book Chapter 1 to chapter 6. Perhaps the real reason for the growing success of the house rabbits is that it is deeply satisfying to build a relationship with an animal that naturally regards you as a predator. Living alongside a bunny is an enriching experience and as time goes on and you gain you rabbit’s trust, you will be rewarded with an amazing behavioural repertoire- a true insight into the private life of a uniquely private animal. The purposes of translation to help readers understand the content of the translated book in Bahasa Indonesia. The theories of translation methods proposed by some theorist such as Newmark and Larson, so that the result of translation will be better. The translation methods applied in translating the book are word-for-word translation, literal translation, adaptation, free translation and communicative translation. The most translation method used by writer in this project is free translation.
