Abstract

This research is motivated by the still low argumentation skills of students in biology. This is because the practice of biology learning only emphasizes aspects of memorization, lacks emphasis on aspects of the process, and students are less trained to solve problems with indicators of argumentation skills. Argumentation skills can be trained through learning with the use of Argument-Driven Inquiry with Scaffolding (ADIS) model-based teaching materials. The purpose of this study is to describe the feasibility of the developed teaching material products, product effectiveness, and student responses. This development research uses Research and Development (R & D) research methods with a 3-D model (define, design, develop). The research subjects were students of class XII MIA 2 using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that (1) the results of the validation of teaching material products were categorized valid with a percentage of 76.5%; obtained a high category with an average value of 3.10. Thus, it can be concluded that the results of the development of model-based teaching materials with Argument-Driven Inquiry with Scaffolding (ADIS) are declared valid and can be used as learning resources but have not been effective in contributing to students' argumentation skills in reproductive system material. This research is a reference in making improvements in subsequent research, in order to obtain positive changes in stimulating student argumentation skills.
