Abstract

Development of Nanoparticle Size Analyzer Using Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) Based Smartphone and Lens Nanoparticle size analyzer has been developed using Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) based smartphone and lens. Green laser light (532 nm) directed to nanoparticle polystyrene latex at 1 cm cuvette will be scattered and produce a fluctuating speckle pattern cause the brown motion of the particles. Scattering directed to two convex lenses (+100 and +50) to focused and captured by VIVO Y53 camera as detector which has a specification of resolution camera 8 MP (540 x 960 pixels, 30 fps) in video record. Videos with a duration 2 minutes processed using RGB analysis and autocorrelation function to obtain particle sizes. Measurement of nanoparticle polystyrene latex shows that d 3 mm gives the best result. The result of nanoparticle measurement is 96,59 nm, 172,32 nm, 245,42 nm, 308,11 nm and 452,30 nm. This value is approach to SEM characterization of 95 nm, 172 nm, 245 nm, 308 nm and 451 nm
