Abstract

Advertisement is an announcement or notice in media to promote a product, service or event to the public. It contains message which aims to attract the attention of consumers. Advertisment in this research is analyzed by means of transitivity system to find its ideational meaning. To meet this objective, the research has two main focuses, the first is to find out the dominant process types and participant functions, the second is to find out the dominant Circumstantial Elements in the electronic devices advertisements. The research method that is used in the research is qualitative method which use documentary analysis such as transcript of the advertisement. The result of this research shows that of the five advertisements, there are 78 clauses that are broken down into process types and participants, and then of 78 clauses also divided into circumstantial elements. The researcher found dominant process types, participants and circumstances in this research. The dominant process type is Material Process which is followed by Actor as the participant of the process. This process is dominant since the advertisements show people their product can do best than the other. And the dominant circumstance is Manner. This circumstance is dominant construes the way in which the product are actualized and it is for substantiating the message that contained in the advertisements.
