Abstract

Al-Qur`an is the Islamic central religious text, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God. To make easier in understanding Al-Qur`an, it has been translated into some languages, for instances: Al-Quran translated into Indonesia, Sundanese, English language, etc. Based on the above statement, the writer is interested to analyze one of the Quranic translations written by Yusuf Ali and the writer focuses on the similarities and the differences on their grammatical rules, especially in the similarities and differences on their conditionals between Arabic clause and their English translation. The main purposes of this research areto analyze the forms of the conditionalclause in English and Arabic which is found in the context of Quranic Translation by Yusuf Ali, to analyze the similarities and the differences between English and Arabic Conditionals. Theusing of Al-Qur`an as the object of the research is to change the less of attention and understanding the readers towards the word uses in the Al-Qur`an, especially in the conditional clause. The source of data is taken from Quranic Translation by Yusuf Ali, it was analyzed by using several theories according to the data. Conditional clause that found in Quranic translation have three kinds in each part. In English, it is divided into three kinds, they are: 1) Future conditional, 2) Present conditional, 3) Past conditional. While Arabic has three kinds, it can be seen as follows: 1) إِنْ Syarthiyah, 2) لَوْ Syarthiyah, 3) إِذَا Syarthiyah. Both similarities and differences can be divided into two categories, the similarity in structure, similarities. The positional relation and meaning as differences.
